When you think of Colombo, you often think of the hustle and bustle of the city, the constantly changing skyline, the curbside kades with their street food, and the city that comes alive at night. Step into the newly opened Headquarters by W15, a restaurant inspired by Colombo’s buzzing streets and vibrant landscapes, and you’ll step right into the heart of Colombo.
Some facts intrigued me when I researched and visited the multi-cuisine restaurant, ‘Cuisine Colombo’ for a review. Sushan Peiris, the founder of “Cuisine” is an accomplished lawyer by profession, qualified with his attorney qualifications all the way from England. He founded the Cuisine Colombo Restaurant chain in 2020 just three weeks prior to the country going in for a full lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sake Colombo by Tsukiji Uoichi is by no means a new entry to the Japanese food scene in Sri Lanka; the restaurant first opened its doors back in 2010 and the ‘Tsukiji Uoichi’ brand is a well-known chain of Japanese restaurants in Tokyo. It has, however, recently come under new management, undergone rebranding and upgrading to operate as the newly reopened ‘Sake Colombo’ today.
