It is with great difficulty that I cut rice out of my daily diet. I love rice and curry, so this lifestyle change is a great challenge. However I have taken the initiative to curb my rice intake due to health factors rather than reasons like weight loss. But because I have actually cut out my rice and curry, my consumption of vegetables has greatly demised as well. And that is not good.

It was a spectacular sight when we walked in to the all new Lounge and Bar at the Hilton Colombo. Life Online dropped by Park Street Mews to check out the recently opened restaurant Kuuraku Colombo, which serves authentic Japanese cuisine. Kuuraku is a Japanese franchise operating 33 restaurants globally. Their restaurants are located in Ginza a prestigious area of Tokyo, Montreal, Toronto, Jakarta, and in a couple of cities in India and also China. This is the first one in Sri Lanka.

Urban Green is a small and beautiful restaurant situated down Unity Place in Colpetty. They are very much quality oriented and try their best to keep the food as healthy as possible. But they also have a lot of options for those who like to go all out and enjoy some good food! All the furniture is made out of recycled wood and the kitchen is a recycled container. The place is inviting and a nice hang out spot.

Hectic weekdays can be a real mood kill. You literally do not want to do anything let alone sweat over a hot stove for hours. To help you better cope, I have developed a chicken dish inspired by my friend Maneshka.
Most of us have gotten so used to having an entire meal at one restaurant, at most we will go to another place to have dessert. But why must it be that way? Especially when so many areas and roads have multiple restaurants almost next door to each other! So we tried out something different. We lunched down 5 different cafes and restaurants down Jawatta Road.
What I absolutely loved about this place is the inspiration behind starting it. The owner and his colleague who wished to remain behind the scenes shared their story with us. Both of them are marine engineers by profession but their goal is to bring Sri Lanka to its former glory in producing and exporting coffee to the world.
Having been open for just a little over a week, Coffee & Company is a beautiful cafe serving the most delicious and scrumptious goodies in town. With soft music playing in the background alongside the comfy furniture, it is the ideal place to wind down after work or hang out with your friends and have a good time.
