Colombo’s holiday season is set to feel a little warmer as The Island Market returns with its Festival Edition at Town Hall on November 29. From 11 am to 5 pm, the space will transform into a lively, open-air celebration of creativity, community and Christmas spirit, bringing together more than 75 local vendors under one iconic roof.

This year’s edition promises a beautifully curated shopping experience where visitors can find thoughtful, handcrafted gifts made by Sri Lankan artisans. From home décor and sustainable lifestyle products to festive treats and artisanal creations, the market offers a chance to complete all your Christmas shopping in one place while supporting small, homegrown businesses.

The atmosphere is set to be just as memorable. Live music, friendly faces and the easy charm of an outdoor gathering will fill the space throughout the day. After browsing the stalls, visitors can unwind on the lawn, enjoy the November breeze and soak in the creative energy that has become synonymous with The Island Market. The event is designed to be more than a marketplace. It is a space that encourages conversations, connections and community, where people can meet, mingle and discover the stories behind the brands they buy.

In keeping with its community-focused spirit, the Festival Edition will also feature a pet adoption initiative by Embark, giving visitors the chance to offer a loving home to a furry companion this Christmas. Part of the proceeds from the event will support Make-A-Wish Sri Lanka through the Indira Cancer Trust, adding an element of giving back to an already meaningful day.
