Calling all superheroes, wizards, Jedi, anime lovers, gamers, and comic book fanatics… Come be yourself! Lanka Comic Con is back, and it’s bigger, bolder, and geekier than ever! Turning 10 this year, Lanka Comic Con lands on August 30th and 31st at Kolamba Kamatha at BMICH, a perfect combo of indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for cosplay struts, artist alleys, and all-out fandom fun. From humble beginnings back in 2015, LCC has grown into the place where Sri Lanka’s geek culture thrives, whether you are an artist, cosplayer, collector, or just wildly passionate about all things nerdy.
This time, expect over 50 vendors, 40 emerging artists, and a jam-packed line up of workshops, panels, and performances across two full days.
What makes LCC truly special?
It's not just the merch or the cosplay (though that is awesome), it's the community. Over the years, LCC has helped small businesses bloom, championed inclusive spaces, and been powered by volunteers who keep the magic going.
Set to be one of the largest editions to date, Lanka Comic Con 2025 welcomes everyone regardless of your age (whether you are Gen Z, Gen Alpha, millennial or even a Gen X), you can go and pay tribute to your favourite characters!
What to expect at LCC 2025?
Lanka Comic Con isn’t just an event but a full-on experience. Whether you’re an OG fan or a curious first-timer, there is something for everyone. Here’s a sneak peek at the exciting event highlights lined up for this year’s epic two-day celebration.
Here’s what some of the original geeks behind Lanka Comic Con have to say.
Thilani Samarasinha: Co-Creator and Principal Trustee of Lanka Comic Con
“I’m so proud to see how LCC has grown. From a small idea to a larger-than-life reality. I feel privileged to have been a part of its inception and growth and to have worked alongside such passionate and exceptionally talented people to bring this dream to fruition.”
Lauren Change: Lanka Comic Con Head of Marketing & Organizer
"For brands, sponsoring LCC is a chance to meaningfully engage with a vibrant, value-driven audience that's shaping trends in tech, fashion, entertainment, and beyond. Many brands that once grew alongside their audiences now face the challenge of staying relevant to a new generation with a fresh set of ideals. LCC offers culturally aware consumers. Gen Z and geek communities, in particular, crave authenticity and connection, so brands looking to be a part of this space must go beyond advertising and truly invest in building their vision for the future. Brands that do this capture attention and build fierce loyalty."
Navin Weeraratne: Co-creator of Lanka Comic Con, Founder of Painted Figs
"This event started as a community originally, with the event following, we started out with geek meets, and then we grew into a Comic Con. When it comes to tabletop gaming and LARP, Lanka Con has helped expose more people to these aspects of geek culture."
Akila Weerasinghe: Lanka Comic Con Designer
"Over the last ten years, Lanka Comic Con has built a platform that brings people together over like-minded interests. One of the pillars of this has been art and the diverse geek art community. By giving artists large and small platforms to spotlight, sell, and bond over art, LCC has contributed greatly to an art scene that is often overlooked by the establishment."
So if you’ve ever dreamed of sharing a hall with superheroes, artists, and fellow fans, this is your chance. Bring your curiosity and love and step into the fun! See what makes Lanka Comic Con truly special, and who knows, you might even discover a new obsession or two?
