The right café can make all the difference when you’re trying to be productive. Luckily, Colombo has plenty of options with reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and, of course, excellent coffee. Here are some work-friendly cafés that are worth checking out.
Brew 1867 by Dilmah
This is one of the best cafes in Colombo to work from. The space is comfortable and quiet, with good seating options. You can book a table in advance if you need to. The food is good, I've tried their snacks and meals, all tasty. Their tea selection is excellent (it's Dilmah, after all), and the coffee is great too. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have free, reliable WiFi, which makes it perfect for working. I have spent whole days here when I need to focus. The atmosphere is just right, not too loud but not too quiet either. If you're looking for a cafe to work from in Colombo, this is a top choice.
Café Mocha by Barista
Café Mocha is one of those reliable spots where you can actually get work done. The upstairs area is surprisingly peaceful with comfortable seating, a quiet atmosphere and almost no distractions. They have some really great coffee options, delicious food and some yummy desserts as well. Staff are friendly and the crowd is mostly other people working or having quiet meetings. Good option when you need a no-fuss place to work with decent coffee and food.
Coffee Manor – Nawala
This place is a great spot to work in solitude. It’s a perfect place to study or work because of the comfortable seating, ample charging points, delicious food and amazing coffee. It is everything you need in a ‘work from a cafe’ set up. And to top it all off, the staff is really friendly and kind, which is always a good thing when you want to spend long hours working at a cafe.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf – Liberty Plaza
This Coffee Bean is a go-to for a lot of people who want a peaceful and functional place to work. Plenty of outlets, decent WiFi, comfy seating, including sofas and big tables if you're with a group. It is a great place for casual work sessions, low-key meetings, or when you just want a quiet corner with coffee that doesn’t disappoint.
Kiri Kopi
Kiri Kopi is a vibe. It has warm lighting, a clean design, and the perfect laid-back-but-stylish atmosphere. Came to work for an hour, ended up staying half the day. They have some really amazing coffee and super good food. The staff are some of the nicest and kindest people I’ve met.
