Sri Lanka’s First International Dance Festival Set to Redefine Dance Tourism in Asia

Sri Lanka is set to make history with the launch of the Sri Lanka Dance Festival 2025 – Paraíso SBKZ, the country’s first-ever internationally curated Latin and cultural dance festival, taking place from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025, at the historic Mount Lavinia Hotel.

Organised in collaboration with Sri Lanka Tourism, this landmark event aims to position Sri Lanka as Asia’s next hub for dance tourism, bringing together over 75 international artists, DJs, and influencers, alongside more than 500 dancers from over 15 countries.

A Celebration of Global Dance, Culture, and Connection
The festival will feature an extraordinary fusion of over 12 global dance styles, offering three unforgettable days of workshops, showcases, social dancing, and live concerts. Following the main event, a 3-day curated travel adventure from November 3rd to 5th will invite participants to experience Sri Lanka’s beaches, heritage sites, safaris, and surf destinations, blending movement, exploration, and culture into one immersive journey.

Paraíso SBKZ highlights Sri Lanka’s unique identity as an island of rhythm and culture, where dance, travel, and hospitality unite to create a world-class experience for both local and international guests.

Showcasing Sri Lankan Talent
As part of its mission to uplift local artists, the National Dance Competition will engage 100 dance schools across the island through the Sri Lanka Dance Challenge 2025. The finalists will share the grand stage with international champions, while the top three winning teams will each receive LKR 50,000 in cash prizes and full festival access, providing young Sri Lankan dancers a platform for global recognition and exposure.
