Kalyani Mawatha First Lane in Wattala is to be renamed ‘H. D. Premaratne Mawatha’ soon, following a request made by the Media Foundation International headed by Sumith Tissera.

Wattala Urban Council member Leonard Rohan Jayakody told Impulse that the road was now being renovated after which it would be reopened under the new name, in memory of the award winning filmmaker who made movies like Apeksha, Saptha Kanya, Deveni Gamana, Aadara Hasuna and others.
