Popular actor Ranjan Ramanayake who has won the most popular actor awards in recent years, is probably vying to clinch the most popular actress award soon.

Ranjan plays a long-running female role as 'Kanchana' in the newest movie directed by Sadesh Kumar who earlier directed 'Pravegaya' which is yet to be released.

Ranjan plays the role of a female in this movie for the first time in his acting career.

Sadesh Kumar also produced 'Super Six' which is to be released soon.

Upeksha Swarnamali also plays a key role in 'Kanchana'.
