What is the best time to remove matter fur from a cat?
Always attempt to remove the matted fur after the cat has eaten because the animal is more relaxed at the time.
In which manner should it be removed?
· Approach the cat calmly
· Make sure the manicure scissors are hidden in your pocket
· Once the cat is relaxed, try and work out the matted fur with your fingers. In a worst case scenario pull out the scissors.
· Snip down the middle of the matter fur, far from the skin. It's quite easy to snip the skin accidentally on long haired cats, so be very mindful.
· Work the matted fur apart with your fingers, snip a little more fur off if necessary.
· After you have worked the matted fur with your fingers, cut it off.
What if, the cat has more than one bit of matted fur?
Remove the other mats at a different time, because the cat will lose patience.
Important : If the cat is un approachable, take it to a vet or a groomer in order to avoid injuring the cat.
