Ainsley and Dawn celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. It marks a momentous, joyful and historic event in their walk of life. We congratulate and wish them both happiness and blessings for many more years of love!

1. When did you first meet and how long has it been since?

We met at Bandarawela around January 1961, that is over 53 years old.

2. What was the first thing about your partner that you were attracted to?

Ainsley - Naturally, she was (and is) very petite, beautiful with piercing blue eyes and an exquisite personality.
Dawn - Ainsley continues to be handsome, genuine in all he says and does and maintains a great personality.

3. What do you think maintains a successful relationship for you both? 

A - A ‘give and take’ attitude, to forgive and forget petty differences and being respectful.
D - To love, honour and be a beacon of strength and encouragement which, in my opinion are essential ingredients in bringing to bear a successful relationship.

4. What is the best thing you like about your partner?

A - She maintains a high sense of the noble duty of care and concern to all. An excellent housewife – be it the house or in the kitchen. In short, the perfect soul mate.
D - My husband is very methodical, has a high intellectual capacity and above all, is a gentleman par excellence.

5. What is something you detest about your partner?

A - How can I comment? She is indeed a lady. To answer the question, my wife has a habit (good or bad, I cannot say) of regularly checking on me at my workplace via telephone.
D - Getting up late on Saturdays. I guess he covers up for the early wakeup call from Mondays to Fridays. I’m sure my husband will take no offence should he read my comment!

6. Describe your relationship in one word.

A  - Awesome
D - Great
