Today I was tagged on the new trending space Gourmet Boutique, where literally everything is available. It can be your international favourites or all the local delights. It’s amazing to see the big spread in this two-storey building. Ashi Ashraff, the founder, and his family together with his team opened doors at 19/2, Alfred Place, Colombo 3 a peaceful neighbourhood for some premiere shopping. This is definitely not the traditional convenience store; here they offer premium, high-end products, even from small local brands which are so Sri Lankan and beautifully put together. All the imported products that are available are directly sourced from ethical and sustainable brands trusted in the US, the UK, Europe, and Australia.

The event was fun and well attended. The Chief Guest was the Mayor of Colombo, Mrs Rosy Senanayake, looking fab as always in her green kaftan.

It was lovely and refreshing to see the beautiful former Mrs. World Caroline Jurie bringing to life her passion project Jataa, which produces head scarves mostly worn by women undergoing chemotherapy, adding that all profits from the sale of Jataa will be used to empower their fight against cancer. 

If you have been shopping on a bright sunny day just like me, you’re in for a treat with Isle of Gelato. Shalini Fernando also opened the doors with yummy ice creams, popsicles and the list just goes on.

I think this is the place to shop knowing that Christmas is just around the corner and if you’re looking at buying anything and everything that’s going to go on your Christmas dinner table, I’m happy to say these guys have it from the best cold cuts, to imported fresh flowers and everything in between.
