Colombo just got its end-of-year soundtrack. On December 28, 2025, Grammy-winning R&B star Ne-Yo will bring his biggest hits to the Sugathadasa Outdoor Stadium, turning the city into the backdrop for one of the most anticipated concerts in Sri Lanka’s recent history. The official date was revealed with Ne-Yo himself joining a press conference via live video call to greet local media, share his excitement, and answer questions.
“I’ve always wanted to visit Sri Lanka, and I’m excited to finally bring my music to the people there,” Ne-Yo said. “It’s going to be a night to remember, and I can’t wait to share my biggest hits with my fans in Sri Lanka.”
Few artists have defined the last two decades of R&B like Ne-Yo. With chart-toppers such as So Sick, Miss Independent, and Closer, his unmistakable voice has become synonymous with heartfelt lyrics and irresistible grooves. His live shows are celebrated worldwide for their energy and connection, making December’s concert one of the most highly anticipated entertainment events on the island.
Ne-Yo’s influence stretches far beyond his own stage. As a songwriter, he has penned global hits for the biggest names in the business, from Rihanna and Beyoncé to Mario, Pitbull, and Celine Dion. That rare duality - hitmaker in his own right and the pen behind countless others - has solidified his status as one of the most influential forces in modern R&B.
The countdown begins not just for the show, but also for tickets. Starting September 1, 2025, fans will be able to secure their spots exclusively through the PickMe App, the concert’s official ticketing partner. Options will range from General Admission to VIP and VVIP, ensuring every level of fan can experience the show, whether from the packed stands or the very front of the stage.
The concert is presented by Brown Boy Presents, headed by Co-Founder and CEO Amith Boteju. For Boteju and his team, the announcement marks more than just a date on the calendar; it’s a cultural milestone.
“Bringing Ne-Yo to Colombo is not just about hosting a concert; it’s about creating a historic moment for Sri Lanka,” Boteju said. “Our mission has always been to put the island on the international entertainment map, and this event is a significant milestone in that journey.”
Organisers are promising more than a concert. With world-class stage production, an open-air stadium setting, and a setlist spanning the biggest hits of Ne-Yo’s career, the December 28 show is being designed as an immersive, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The event is made possible through the support of Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Mastercard, Sri Lanka Tourism, Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority, Scope Cinemas, Emerging Media, PickMe, Wijeya Newspapers, and Artiste Connection, each playing a part in ensuring Colombo delivers a world-class night of music.
With the date finally locked, the energy is building. For longtime fans, this is the chance to hear the songs that shaped a generation performed live. For Colombo, it’s an opportunity to take its place on the global entertainment stage.
As Ne-Yo promised at the press conference, “It’s going to be a night to remember.” On December 28, 2025, when the lights go up at Sugathadasa Outdoor Stadium, Sri Lanka will be closer than ever to one of the greatest voices in R&B.
