Income Tax officials are said to have cracked down on the homes of Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood and playback singer-actor Sonu Niigaam. The raids reportedly took place on December 7, around noon.
Our source said, "The raids started almost simultaneously at the homes of Sanju in Bandra and both the Sonus in Andheri."
While details were unavailable till we went to press, the raids were extensive. They lasted for close to 22 hours and were on till yesterday morning.
It is said Sanjay and Sonu (Sood) have signed three high-profile movies each. Sonu Niigaam, of course, is Bollywood's most sought after playback singer and a concert performer across the globe.
The IT raids may have added to the woes of Sonu Niigaam, whose mother Shobha is currently admitted at Lilavati Hospital.
A source said, "Sonu is very attached to his mom and has been by her side. Family and friends are lending him full support. Sonu's mom is under the care of some of the best doctors in the hospital."
Last year, the income tax department had raided the homes of Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
In fact, the raid at PC's home turned out to be controversial after Shahid Kapoor, who was good friends with her at that point, was reportedly seen at her house, having coffee, when the officials arrived early morning.
