A cool villa in the cultural triangle

Surrounded by a lush green natural forest and a babbling stream, Arika Villa in Dambulla is an oasis of calm. Named after the water lily, Arika Villa provides serene accommodation with a touch of luxury.

Perfectly placed within commutable distance of the historic rock cave in Dambulla, the lion fortress in Sigiriya, and the ancient kingdoms of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, Arika Villa offers nine capacious and well appointed rooms, tastefully decorated  and equipped with all modern conveniences. The rooms also have very spacious open to sky bathrooms with a range of excellent toiletries.

Its secluded location and layout of the rooms ensures that each room has use of a private balcony or verandah overlooking the stream which winds it way around the property.

With only nine rooms Arika Villa offers privacy for those seeking a break from the rigours of  life in a busy metropolis. Ideally suited for small families or couples seeking a getaway, the vast beautifully landscaped gardens  spread over three acres also offers plenty of places to relax and unwind. There is also a swimming pool and a jacuzzi which will help to cool down after a busy day of sightseeing.

In operation for only three years Arika Villa is well maintained, and is complemented by a cadre of staff that are an obliging happy lot who are only too pleased to help you out whatever your request may be.

The cuisine served at Arika Villa is varied and ranges from Western, Asian and Sri Lankan cuisine. With access to the freshest vegetables in Dambulla, Arika Villa also has its own organic vegetable garden which provides a component of the hotel’s needs. Their signature dish of rice and curry is immensely popular.

The hotel also has a range of activities for the guests to partake in including tandem bike rides through the winding paths. For those interested in seeing local life in action there are walks through the village where you can observe the daily intrigue of village life.

Its intimate environment, friendly staff, a varied range of cuisine, an excellent location, comfortable accommodation and beautiful setting all contribute to the allure of Arika Villa.
