AKG EVENTS, an Omani based event management agency exclusively specialized in production entertainment and corporate events, presents its first launch in Sri Lanka: HIGH VOLTAGE – The Ultimate Groove which will be held on Friday the 29 June June from 7.00pm onwards at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC).

MIMS
Born to a Jamaican-American family in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, Shawn Mims grew up influenced by the rappers just the south of him in Harlem. Attending community college briefly, Mims dropped out wanting to make it as a rapper, a move that paid off career-wise. Soon after he was featured on the hit “Love Them All” by a Canadian group Baby Blue Soundcrew, which was later nominated for the best video in the Much Music Awards 2001.
In 2006 the rapper staging now as MIMS independently released his single monster hit “This is why I’m Hot”. The song gained much fame on radio stations to garner the attention of major labels including EMI/Capitol which released Mims’ full length debut – “Music is my Savior” in 2007.
Associated with acts such as J Holiday, Tyga, DJ Drama and Shop Boyz, Mims gained a lot of fame and success in the music industry. His track “Move (If you Wanna) can be found in the Step Up 3D Motion Picture Soundtrack.
Lumidee
The billboard artiste Lumidee Cedeño was born in Spanish Harlem. The singer, songwriter and rapper Lumidee rose to fame in 2003 with the release of the song “Never Leave You (uh ooh)”
This monster hit reached the top ten in over ten countries and number one in various European countries.
Associated with genres such as R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae ton and Reggae, Lumidee has performed with renowned artistes such as Pitbull, Shaggy, N.O.R.E., Ron Brawz, Kool Savas and Somaya Reece.

Soca sensation Rupert Clark much popular as ‘Rupee’ began his carrier in music with Barbadian reggae group ‘Coalishun’, which he joined in 1997 after strong showings at area talent contests.
Kevin Lyttle
Soca artiste hailing from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Kevin Lyttle is known to many by his monster hit “Turn me On” recorded by Lyttle and the Dancehall artist Spragga Benz.
In the year 2003 Lyttle signed with Atlantic Records and later on the 27th July 2004 release his self titled album in The States. Lyttle’s second single “Last Drop” which has been released in the markets outside the US has reached the top 10 hits in Finland, top 20 in Switzerland, top 30 in the UK and top 40 in Netherlands, Sweden and Australia.
Kevin Lyttle has been known to perform with the acclaimed artistes Sean Paul, Alison Hinds, Problem Child and even Flo Rida.
DJ Adam J
Starting his career at the age of 13, DJ Adam J was signed to West-side radio 89.6 where he had a regular slot every Friday night from 1.00am to 3.00am along with his co-host EvE.
Having a passion for music and entertaining people, DJ Adam J is an artiste who appreciates music of all genres, although when starting his career as a DJ, he got lured into the House and Garage scene. After performing for a number of parties and radio stations Adam J decided to make a drastic change to make it “in the big game”.
The DJ’s biggest achievement to date was when he was a warm up DJ performing side by side with America’s top R&B sensation Akon at his concert in Hammersmith, Palais in 2007. Adam J has recently moved to Dubai where he holds down two residencies, Tuesday night at the award winning nightclub 'Chi the Lodge' and Friday nights at Elegante club.
Associated with artists such as Akon, Jay Sean, Blackstreet, SWV and Shaggy, DJ Adam J has been titled the #1 DJ in UK.
This groove event is expected to draw 5000+ enthusiasts looking forward to the night of their life.
