What better way to delight your taste buds that with a welcome dose of candies and sweetmeats? Goodies at Cinnamon Lakeside has turned itself into a paradise of goodies for one and all, irrespective of age.
Sweets that will give you a plethora of tastes with various ingredients, that are made from a variety of ingredients from fruits to chocolate to dairy products, the experience comes real close to delightful decadence. A treat to sight precedes the treat to taste, as the items are jazzy and vibrant and each of the orders is tastefully adorned, making dining at Goodies a holistic indulgence.
There is a cake of the month that is on offer, and each one is a novel treat. Pumpkin Cheese is the name this month alongside the Macaroon chocolate mousse cake. In addition the delectable Chocolate and mint mousse cake together with the dozen chocolate varieties can help remedy that chocolate craving and win the hearts of true chocoholics. The Opera is my recommendation: in a range of heavenly sweet layers, this piece of cake is a slice of bliss!
A fresh and candid tang of fruits will greet you as you bite into the strawberry tart or the mixed fruit tart. Special cupcakes that you decide to taste the moment you set your eyes on them are also available in numbers at Goodies. Simply, everything leaves you asking for more, and it’s the perfect place to sit down and pamper yourself, your spouse or kids over a cup of coffee or simply for dessert.
On that note, a variety of fresh fruit juices or chilled or hot drinks are ever present at Goodies to quench your thirst. A brand new high tea concept with themes is to be launched as well. If you ask me, this doesn’t seem like something you can afford to miss out on!
There’s nothing to worry if you’re the one who orders savouries when the rest of the family prefers sweets. For the not exactly toothsome ones, Goodies has its sandwich bar, with some of the most exquisite wrap sandwiches, shawarmas and pizzas. Being a sweetmeat restaurant, I would say there is absolutely no compromise on the taste and quality of savouries. Do try them out for a workday brunch and be pleasantly surprised, you may have found yourself a new hangout venue.
Chef Niranjan is the new pastry chef at Goodies, Cinnamon Lakeside, who has a lustrous culinary career behind him and he is currently dishing out his expertise at the said venue. He plans on introducing various new recipes and extend the selection of delectable delights available at Goodies.
One of the most important things I need to add is that all of these splendidly scrumptious items, be it cakes or sweets or savouries are very reasonably priced and are downright affordable for regular visits, given that Lakeside is a star rated hotel in Colombo. You might want to drop in for a bite sometime soon!
