views 6The momentum behind “WAVES OF HOPE”, the charity concert organised by the Western Musicians Association (WMA) in collaboration with Rotary District 3220, continues to build as the event rapidly approaches a full house. At the time of writing, only 4 tables out of the original 50 remain available, underscoring the overwhelming public response and strong support for this national cause.
Scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026, at 7.00 PM at the Hotel Galadari Ballroom, the concert is being held in aid of communities and families affected by Cyclone Ditwah, bringing together music, solidarity, and compassion for those in need.
The event brings together some of Sri Lanka’s most respected western musicians, led by the legendary band Misty, with performances by Chitral, Dalreen, Rukshan, Dina, and Sohan, and presented by Clifford and Lulu. All artists have volunteered their time and talent entirely free of charge, a powerful gesture that reflects the spirit of unity and national responsibility behind this initiative. Guests can also look forward to special moments and surprises planned throughout the evening, making it a truly memorable experience.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 10,000, inclusive of a set menu dinner, with a BYOB policy, and all proceeds will be directed towards relief and recovery efforts for families and education impacted by Cyclone Ditwah.
Rotary, a well-established international organization with full transparency and accountability, joining with the mega-talented artists from the Western Musicians Association (WMA), will make this a purpose-driven and entertaining concert for all. This collaboration marks the first time Rotary District 3220 and WMA have come together for a national humanitarian cause, setting an important precedent for future partnerships between civil society and the creative community.
Gratitude is also extended to Misty and all participating artists for standing in solidarity with affected communities and for using their platforms to drive meaningful change.
Sri Lanka witnessed immense destruction to infrastructure and heartbreaking personal loss across multiple regions. With the support of WMA, Rotary, and concerned citizens, we are ready to rebuild and support displaced families and flood-affected schools and communities.
With limited tables remaining, the organizers encourage individuals, corporates, and supporters to secure their tables and tickets promptly to avoid disappointment, while contributing directly to a cause that impacts lives across the country.
