The follow-up to 2019’s “Grease – The Musical”, this will be the third Agatha Christie production by CT7 following 2013’s “And Then There Were None”, and 2015’s “The Mousetrap”, and its seventh overall production. Taking place in an England emerging from the ashes of World War II, “Witness for the Prosecution” comes from the mind of prolific author and playwright, Agatha Christie. A tight courtroom drama which explores the complexities of human nature, it is full of twists and turns as one would expect from a Christie production. The plot kicks off with an accused man, Leonard Vole, visiting the office of a renowned barrister, Sir Wilfrid Robarts. Convinced of Vole’s innocence, Sir Wilfrid takes the case but faces stiff opposition in the form of heated rival Myers and surprising testimonies in court. Full of twists and turns, this Christie classic navigates the difficult world of human desire, sowing seeds of doubt in the minds of its audience throughout its tense duration while exploring the complex motives of its central characters, culminating in a shocking finale only as a Christie production could.

Director Kevin Cruze voiced his excitement for CT7’s newest production, giving special thanks to members of the cast, production team, backstage crew, and all who have contributed to the upcoming production. As for the significance of this particular production itself, Cruze stated, “Seven has always been a special number for me, so being able to do CT7’s seventh production, and that too another Christie, which were CT7’s first two productions, is an exciting prospect in and of itself.” On his preference for murder mysteries, he said, “Murder mysteries constantly keep me guessing, and planted firmly on the edge of my seat. They put my mind to work and I feel as if I’m directly involved in the movie, play, or book, actively trying to solve the mystery myself. I love this, and I want to give audiences the very same experience by keeping them engaged throughout the play by encouraging them to come to their own conclusions and solve the mystery in their heads.” This gripping courtroom drama will hit the Lionel Wendt Theatre on the 17th of November and run through to the 20th of November, 2022.

Tickets will be made available in due course. For further updates and more information check out COLD Theatre 7 on Facebook and Instagram or visit www.coldtheatre7.com . This amateur production of “Witness for the Prosecution” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.
