This year, Cargills partners with CentreStage Productions, one of Sri Lanka's most innovative and celebrated theatre companies, to present a grand new musical production of Charles Dickens' beloved classic, "A Christmas Carol," slated for November 2025.

This ambitious theatrical production will also commemorate the 24th anniversary of CentreStage Productions and the 30th anniversary of its visionary founder, Jehan Aloysius, as a director. In fact, this remarkable dual milestone prompted the decision to stage the full-scale musical adaptation of "A Christmas Carol - The Musical" this year. 

Dickens's timeless tale of redemption, generosity, and the true spirit of the holidays is a perfect choice for CentreStage, known for its ability to infuse classic stories with fresh perspectives and breathtaking theatricality. Audiences can anticipate a magical and heartwarming experience with captivating music, sumptuous costumes, and the signature creative direction that defines CentreStage Productions.

​Composer, lyricist, and director, Jehan Aloysius, informs us that the musical has been over three years in the making, allowing ample time for the meticulous planning and artistic development required for a production of this magnitude.

The stellar cast of veterans of Sri Lankan English Language Theatre includes Sean Amarasekara, Arjuna Wignarajah, Dion Nanayakkara and Joanne Aloysius Rajaiyah, as well as new stars such as Rachel Hettiarachchi, Chaitanya Perera. They are joined by child actors, Kevin Larson, Arali Jayasundera and others. Jehan Aloysius himself takes on the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
