Can we call her the fashionable ambassador? Yes, Gayesha Perera has represented the miracle of Asia in many international pageants. She has participated in many of them and won titles such as;

· Miss Sri Lanka International 2006
· Miss Talent of Miss Tourism Queen International 2009
· Miss Personality of Miss Asia Pacific World 2012
· Best National Costume Winner at Miss Asia Pacific World 2012

From music videos, modelling to acting Gayesha has contributed her talents to the world in many ways. She studied at Subodha Balika Vidyalaya Dehiwala and Girls High School Mount Lavinia where she engaged in sports such as Basketball, Netball and Athletics.
She also offered her leadership skills as a school prefect. Gayesha’s activeness and attentiveness were well recognised as she was appointed as the national directress for the Miss Asia Pacific World Beauty Pageant.

She also serves as an Ambassador for the Brave Hearts charity organisation.

Here is Gayesha Perera…

Gayesha, you are multi-talented and I would say you’ve got multiple faces in society. You are an actress, a model, a fashion icon. But what’s the most preferred face you want to be known as and why?

I love to keep a balance in what I am good at, but I would prefer more to be an actress, because I’ve got a passion for acting. I’d love to star in a love story.

Can the readers know your turning point in life in becoming the “Gayesha” they know today?

Becoming Miss Sri Lanka for Miss International in the year 2006. It gave me lot of light and added courage to go further in my life.

You recently turned 25 and all the best from Life Online. What are the birthday resolutions you made for yourself?

First of all, thank you Life Online for the lovely wishes. With me turning 25 and also having the privilege of being appointed as the National Directress of Miss Asia Pacific, I want to help our girls to face competition well. It is my duty to serve my motherland to the best of my ability.

What were the obstacles faced in your journey so far and what were your ways of overcoming?

I always believe that a person should be humble and should remember the past like where he or she came from.

I didn’t come from a wealthy family; my mother did a simple job but worked very hard to raise me. She always groomed me to work hard and to have determination to stand up on my own feet.

When I participated in Miss Sri Lanka for Miss International in the year 2006, I had lots of financial hardships. I was in great difficulty finding sponsors to sponsor my expenses when I had to travel abroad after I won. But I had lots of determination to climb up in life and I am ever grateful to my mother for helping me to be the woman I am today.

We have Sri Lankan actresses like Jacqueline making a name in Bollywood. Do you have a game plan to branch out of Sri Lanka in terms of acting or modelling?

Well I have already done one Russian movie, and the answer to your question is YES. I’m working with a couple of managers in two countries, let’s see how it goes, I’m working on a few film projects.

Mike before you run down others, look at yourself first ! You have used a word of your own thrice in your silly comment: "TELENT"
    The correct word is TALENT.
Please focus on brushing up your English without slinging mud at others, you Broken-English-Johnny.

Comments above by few people show why we as a nation is not strong and not going forward...all we can do is pick on other peoples faults and laugh..I am at least glad people are making an effort. We should be concentrating on our own business rather than poking our finger on others..its silly to pick on someone else's spelling or grammar mistakes...

english is our second or third language and we should not worry much about its grammar. all these guys can ex;press an idea very well and that skill is lacking in 90 pc of this country's population. make errors and use it that is all, and spelling errors can be checked using microsoft software or online dics.

If the intention is correcting then fine, what matters is the intention not the action rather...

#MP: Its not a case of finding fault with someones spelling. Its correcting what is incorrect, that is how we learn.

#Gayan, watch your spelling before you make any comments here such as "an English" and language "
As there are some professors poking around.

Faqi, your one to comment / point out other people's mistakes. In a previous post (on the article on the SL Beauty Queens), you have said "Congratulations are in order to these two young ladies, for the converted positions they attained at these competitions.", where the word actually is 'coveted'. Check your own house first before pointing out faults in others. :-)
