Special ‘Kids’ Creative’ next Sunday!

“Kids’ Creative”, an event showcasing the talents of the special children who attend the Chitra Lane School will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Duke’s Court, Cinnamon Lakeside hotel on Sunday, 17th May 2015.  Entrance is free.

The Chitra Lane Sheltered Workshop was established in 2001 to provide caring for young adults. Students are given the opportunity to develop various vocational skills. At the Sheltered Workshop, there is a fully-equipped Sewing Unit, Cookery Unit, Bead Jewellery Making Unit, Recycled Paper Unit, a Screen Printing Unit and an Art Room.

“Kids’ Creative” is an event launched to create awareness among parents, caregivers and the general public on the different vocational programmes available at the Chitra Lane Sheltered Workshop.

“Kids’ Creative” will give the students an opportunity to showcase their products, build self-confidence and integrate as equal members of society.”said School Principal Mrs. Champika Mahapatuna.
