Janaka Palapathwala’s passion for music has been growing ever since he was a child. Being away from Sri Lanka between 2004 and 2013 2010 he was completely unaware about the lack of development in the western music industry and therefore decided to retire completely from singing.

This did not stop him from singing at event, his friends constant demand to hear him sing and perform served as encouragement for Janaka to pick up the mic and always allowed him to take my place at the band stand and perform like he used to before he retired.

“My love for music did not end just because I retired leading me to take the stage again at the concert professionally arranged under a professional music Director. Realising that God has given many talents in any field to anybody, it is his duty to multiply and then use it to serve the people and make it beneficial to the society. “ says Janaka.

Doing anything for the first time is not an easy task so Janaka approached Harsha Makalande, the most capable person to handle the mammoth task, and someone who has vast experience about the concert stage. He warmly embraced the idea and co incidentally Harsha was contemplating doing something upon the same lines. Therefore Janaka says his is “extremely happy and grateful that he is back in the country to give back to his mother land what he got from her.”

Janaka will be performing the great hits of Elvis Presley along with Jim Reeves, Englebert and Tom Jones to 'Khrome' a 30 member pop orchestra, directed by Harsha Makalanda.

'It's now or never' will take place on the 9th of November 2014 at the Golden Ballroom, Galadari Hotel, Colombo at 7pm.
