Roasted Peking Duck at the Emperor’s Wok
Peking Duck promotion has always been a very popular promotion at the Emperor’s Wok, Hilton Colombo. Once again the hotel’s chefs are ready to treat you with yet another Peking Duck promotion from the16th to 26th July 2014.
Peking duck is processed in several steps. First the ducks are rubbed with spices, salt, ginger coated with honey mixture, red vinegar and Chinese wine and then kept for some time. Then the ducks are roasted in an oven, or hung over the fire till they become golden brown. After the duck is roasted, the skin becomes golden and intensely crisp. While hot, it is cut into squares and served with thin pancakes, called Peking doilies.
“This particular dish was served long ago in China for special Royal banquets, and it is an experience one should not miss!” added Gigi De Silva, Marketing Communications Manager Hilton Colombo.
