1333 Bikeathon "Out of the Shadows" 2014

“Supporting people to come Out of the Shadows to talk about their problems”

The 1333 Bikeathon out of the shadows is a bike ride over 1333 kilometres around Sri Lanka.

The duration of the ride will be for 13 days where riders will complete an average of approximately100 kilometres each day. The 1333 Bikeathon is not a race, where anyone whether they are casual, frequent or professional riders are encouraged to participate to raise awareness and funds for CCCline’s.

Since its inception in December 2009, CCCline 1333 has been steadily moving forward towards its goal of being a credible, accessible and most utilised telephone counselling service in Sri Lanka. CCCline 1333 is a confidential and free telephone counselling service to encourage people to talk about their problems whether they be personal, relationship or family issues, schools or work worries, mental illness or suicide thoughts. CCCline’s 1333 short code number is a toll free number accessible to all people of Sri Lanka. The service currently averages around 2000 calls every month.

RIDE DETAILS:

The ride will start on Sunday 31st August 2014 and conclude on 12th Sep 2014. The ride will also coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day on Wednesday 10th September 2014. The ride will start from a location in the capital Colombo and conclude at a location in Colombo where an event will be held to welcome the riders. There will also be several smaller events to welcome the riders and create awareness in some of the major towns throughout the ride.
