The students of the Cantabilé School of Singing are all set to take their audience on a thrilling and refreshing musical rollercoaster at their third ever concert, “REACH – In a Singing Style”.

A variety of genres and eras are part of their repertoire for the upcoming event scheduled to take place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of October at the British School Auditorium. Directed by Prashalini Peiris the Cantabilé School of Singing consists of a range of ages, spanning from five to twenty seven.

The students are to sing in three groups – Junior, Intermediate and Senior – for the said occasion.

Among other numbers the Juniors are singing a Disney Medley featuring favourites like Hakuna Matata, Chim-Chimney and Supercalifragilistic. The items are choreographed as well and the eager kids have been practicing at it for over 5 months now, to get the singing and dancing just right.

The Intermediate category is performing a piece from High School Musical and a series titled “Best of Glee!” together with the Seniors.

While the Intermediate students will be singing up to three-part choral arrangements, the Seniors will be singing all four parts. In addition a capella performances, popular, jazz and semi-classical pieces are waiting to be performed. A versatile array of nearly 20 to 25 items is to adorn the evening.

Rehearsals seem to be a fun, exciting place to be at. It’s difficult to be there and not catch the contagious thrill and movement.
