The Ergo Solutions launched Dance Sri Lanka – CCMA recently, at a press conference held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Dance Sri Lanka – CCMA is a dance contest that looks to highlight Sri Lanka's cultural dance heritage and give it international exposure through the  Citycell - Channel-i Music Awards (CCMA).

The contest, commencing on the 7^th of October will culminate with a mega dance show on the 27^th, and the winners of the contest will perform at this year's CCMA in Kolkata, India.

Dance Sri Lanka - CCMA will be a sister component of the 8^th CCMA,  to be held on the 18^th of November 2012 in Kolkata India. Citycell, Bangladesh's pioneer telecom operator and largest private television station, Channel-i, collaborated to initiate the Citycell - Channel-i Music Awards in 2004. The mission of the awards was to honor and recognize the contribution of various artists in enriching Bengali music.

“In the last seven years CCMA has grown to be something more, and became an international event last year, on its 7^th outing. A large number of artists from the cultural arena of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and participated and performed at the program in Bangladesh, and the Sri Lankan dance team was well received. The iconic Nanda Malini was awarded a special award in recognition of her contribution to Sri Lankan music as well at the award ceremony,” said Citycell's head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Taslim Ahmend.

The Dance Sri Lanka - CMMA process has been divided into four segments. The first being the selection round of the top 50, which will be held over five days. The second segment will be held to provide the show with its top 40 contestants. The contestants will then be given 12 themes to choose from and perform on a given date. The final segment of the show, where two additional judges will join the judging panel from “Citycell” & “Channel I” to choose the winners who will perform at the CCMA in Kolkata, India.
