WTF – keeping it black

What - Cafe Noir
Where - 216, Rev. Muruththettuwe Ananda Nahimi Mawatha, Thimbirigasyaya
When - 7.00 am - 12.00 am (open till 1.00 am from Friday to Sunday)
WTF has always checked out some amazing places, and there is always something new and nice to see in Lanka and that’s refreshing. Our feature today has been making waves for sometime now and it took us some time to make a visit and the wait was worth every bit
Very close to the heart of Colombo, close to my hood at Thimbirigasyaya. Café Noir serves up some amazing food, and I will say ask for a cold chocolate, you will fall in love with the place fast
The interior does not have the usual café feel, it has a luxurious ambience giving it a royal feel to feast like a king.
If you are like me, who takes a long time to make an order, I will say it’s better you ask the staff there to help you out in picking a dish for you cos I’m sure you will be, “spoilt for choice” when a glance through Noir Blanc’s extensive line up, there is so much to choose from, they have multi cuisine dishes. We were not looking at anything printed.  The menu is on a tablet PC. The sheer variety available is amazing, from an All Day Breakfast, to burgers, pastas, shakes, drinks, mains, and desserts.

The team is amazing, bunch of friendly, fun guys, they are  accommodating and your drinks are done in front of you, you can see how they make it come alive.
They have put a lot of effort into all the furniture, the carpets, the lighting nothing is too loud.  It’s subtle on the eyes and perfect for those instagram photos!
I wanted to dine outside at the Gazebo, I was on a single date, but it’s perfect if you want a romantic setting, and you can also personalise it the way you want
I got to try out all the famous dishes on the menu, and next time when you get there you can pick some off this too

As my mains I tried these! And I must say all these were amazing and the Beef Stew is a major hit
Coriander pesto pasta with grilled chicken
Grilled fish
Pan fried chicken breast
Beef stew volcano
Double Decker burger

And to get the sweeter side to life, I had these
Strawberry mint mojito – refreshing
Cookie creme brulee frappe
Nutella shake
Dark fudge shake

Overall, Cafe Noir Blanc meets high standards just like their cafe in Pelawatte, food, service everything was on point, and I sure will be making more of those visits, and you might see a small place to park, do not worry they have that covered too, their will be someone who will help you out the minute your car pulls in

Danu Innasithamby

Danu Innasithamby is proof that one person can survive on coffee, curiosity, and an unhealthy number of WhatsApp messages. A television host, actor, producer, writer, and professional chatterbox, he’s spent years turning conversations into stories and stories into memorable television. Born in Jaffna and proudly calling Sri Lanka home, Danu has built a career around asking the questions everyone else is thinking—but with a smile that usually gets him out of trouble. Whether he’s interviewing celebrities, hosting major events, judging competitions, or chasing the next great story, there’s never really a dull moment. When he’s not on screen, he’s busy supporting local talent, championing meaningful causes through Sri Lankan Smile, or convincing himself that “just one more project” is a perfectly reasonable life choice. Known for his humour, colourful suits, quick wit, and the ability to make almost anyone laugh, Danu believes life is best lived with good conversations, great food, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. If you spot him, don’t be surprised if you’re suddenly part of an interview… or at least a really entertaining conversation.
