How often do you forget important events, deadlines,  and incur the wrath of the near and dear? If you're like us, we'll wager enough times to warrant a little help. Countdown+ Lite claims to “Countdown to your events, birthdays, vacations etc. Never forget an event again!” and true to its word, it does just that!!! But apart from birthday reminders, we thought that students could actually benefit most out of this app. Here's why.

How It Works:

We tried out the free version of the app, thus choices are limited. BUT the free version will serve you well enough if you don't expect too much.

Countdown+ has a very colourful interface and is quite straightforward to use. Adding a new event is pretty easy; from the menu on the top right, select + countdown to add a birthday or a custom event of your choice. Here you can manage date and times, set repeat intervals, reminder intervals and alarm sounds.

Like we mentioned before, this app is great for students. Ever since we used this to set countdowns to exams and assignments, we have never found ourselves surprised when they rolled around, and setting event reminders ensures you will never be caught off guard or miss a submission date/time.

The widget available for the free version is somewhat pointless - a countdown of a lone event. But like we mentioned, the app and the notifications should suffice to ensure that you never miss anything important.

Cons:

The constant update reminders!!!! This is especially annoying considering the fact that you could easily do without the pro features. Ditto ads. Although they aren't as frequent.

In-app Purchases:

Purchases can be made under different packages depending on your needs and requirements. If anything, getting rid of those pesky ads and the ability to have widgets and more event editing options will trump the need for the free version.

To Get Or Not To Get?

If you're someone who forgets important events, this app will definitely come in handy. But we highly recommend this app to students because we've found it unbelievably useful and it sits high atop our list of life saving apps for students. Seriously, give it a test run and you can thank us later!
