In Conversation : Meg Rosoff

Meg Rosoff spoke about her best-selling novel ‘How I Live Now’ and what it’s like to get into the mind of a 15 year old, Daisy, at the age of 46. “Writers access the unconscious brain!” she says, “Daisy is this very self-centred, selfish girl who sees things in a very narrow perspective. So I try to remember what it was like to be 15 and I remember that when I was small I couldn’t really understand the world or how it worked. So I had to remember that when I was writing about Daisy”.

In her session she also read a small expert from her soon to be released novel for young adults ‘Jonathan Unleashed’, a comedy about one man and two exceptional dogs.

On how she felt the session felt, Meg Rosoff said that “It was fantastic! I really enjoyed and I had a fabulous set of questions. It was nice to talk about Jonathan because I haven’t done it before because it’s not out yet and I haven’t heard any of these questions before and for a writer that’s pretty enjoyable”
