It’s pretty easy to be misled by tempting food pictures and appetizing descriptions on promotion websites nowadays, only to finally try the item and realise the person handling the Facebook page and photographer were far more skilful than the cook!!
With restaurants mushrooming, where can we turn to before we regret the money spent all too rashly? In this all new column, we try something each week from places reputed to selling it, and let you know how it tasted based on general criteria. In a bid to save your time, money and effort, we review a number of places to find the best one for you, whatever be your preferences.
Desserts, drinks and dinners – who does it best? We’ll let you know at V Try – U Buy!!
This week, we went on an Éclair hunt around town. Of course any large scale bakery at your lane-top is bound to have this puff with cream filling and chocolate topping; but when you crave for a good one who in fact rewards your taste buds and your money?

The syrupy chocolate topping made up for the rough pastry. You just might like it.

I won’t recommend it. Quite parched and boring. Not a pleasant aftertaste either.

Jul 26, 2013 12:00 amHow can we trust your reporter's findings when it appears she has not done her basic research. It is not a puff but choux pastry. Is the chocolate dominant???? Unless there is a tiny drop of chocolate on top of the eclair twhich was not the case according to the pics I would not be using dominant as a description!. Nice try but you need to be think the subject matter through. Photos are crap
