Today on the Buzz with Danu, I speak to the team behind the Lite FM Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014. As someone who’s worked with this team for the past 2 years, I understand what this pageant can do to a girl in terms of giving her an opportunity to be heard around the world, and a platform that will change her life for good, in a good way.

What’s new this year?

LITE FM Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014, is completely done ONLINE, giving more opportunity for young, talented beautiful girls to apply. We, in this modern world, understand how important it is to use the internet to reach out to the world , and this has given us a great feedback, and we’re happy to have made this decision.

Any other surprises?

In addition to Miss Universe Sri Lanka, we will be looking for 3 other winners to represent Sri Lanka in
1) Miss International which is the third biggest pageant in the world, and its organised by the cultural association of Japan.
2) Miss Tourism International, which will take place in Malaysia.
3) Bride of the World 2014 which will be in China.

When is the crowning?

The crowning will take place on the 17th of August at Hilton Colombo.
