As the holiday season is drawing closer, we know that you are checking for new places to hang out, new movies to watch and exciting events to drop in to. Here’s what we got this week!

Hangout Spots

Weras Ganga Park: One of the coolest hangout spots which were introduced to Colombo lately. An open-air food court, a wide variety of food and a spacious jogging track gives you many options to choose between hanging out with friends or family or going for a jog with them.

Java Lounge: A chilled-out place with soothing music where you can have a quick casual meeting or invite a group of friends to have a chat over a cup of hot/cold coffee and a tempting dish.

Arcade Independence Square: A one-stop shopping mall with various stores from clothing to restaurants, spas, movie theatre and many more. Equipped with a spacious courtyard and a massive front garden, the Arcade is usually packed during weekends with children who enjoying watching fish at the glass bottom fixed in the middle of the front garden.

Events (in Colombo)

Colombo SME Forum : Pre-Holiday Sale @DBU: A platform for entrepreneurs, small and home-based start-up companies to market their products. Items ranging from accessories to Christmas goodies, cards, clothing and many more products will be on sale for affordable prices. The event will take place on November 19 at the Dutch Burgher Union from 10.30am-6:30PM.

AMDT Breast Cancer Awareness Walk: A compelling and inspiring opportunity to unite as one community to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and honour the Breast Cancer survivors in Sri Lanka. The event will be held on November 19 from 2:00PM onwards and the starting point is from AMDT, 317A, Galle Road, Bambalapitiya.

Classic Movie Night @ Cloud Café: This week’s edition of Classic Movie Night involves various twists and loads of laughter staring classic comedians including Steve Martin and Michael Caine. To make your weekend even more exciting, Amber Spa is offering 30% off between 4:30PM and 6:30PM (just before the movie). The movie will be screened on November 19 from 7:30PM onwards at Cloud Café, Colombo Courtyard, Colombo 3. Entrance free.

Environmental Psychology Seminar @ Psychological Sciences Institute: Environmental psychology is a new discipline which focuses on the transactions between the individuals and their physical settings.
