Today on the Buzz I speak about a local brand that’s winning the world - Carnage - and I’m speaking to the man who founded the brand. It’s one thing to be fit, it’s another thing to be fit enough to build a brand when the economy and the market were totally against it all. Today the brand has grown and opened its new branch in Kandy; the biggest yet to open. I spoke to him about his success story.

When you took this decision to start this brand, did you believe it would grow to be this today? Genuinely had no idea what to expect or how the brand would grow over the past 3 years so the answer would be no.

How does it feel to have made a brand that the county is proud to wear, and what would you say is the secret to success? There's always a sense of pride when people choose our brand to wear for Training knowing that we are indirectly able to motivate more people to commit to becoming healthier and fitter I Believe it is in our brand DNA to do better each time which means that we had to constantly look at how we can improve which became the secret to our success*

Tell me about your expansion, how is the new Kandy store? Kandy has always been a great part of our community and it naturally made sense for us to expand to Kandy the welcome has been great so far.

What would you tell those who have been following you in creating similar products? Keep innovating and find what works for you.

What were your ambitions when you were growing up? As Weird as it is, being honest I can't recall having one specific ambition.

What’s new for your brand in 2024? We are expanding our product range into a few other areas which I like to keep as a secret for now and Surely We will be eying for a few exciting brand collaborations.

What would you tell the youth of today?
Make sure to enjoy the Journey and build great relationships. Commit to your craft and invest time and resources to learn new skills. Nothing can replace hard work and Hard work is bound to pay off.

Who or what inspires you?
The fact that we have now built a Team that depends on the success of the brand inspires me to keep going
