Sparkle!

Flight:  Hyderabad

Date:  1st March

Just passing the season of love, many airhostesses seem to be walking on air, and flaunting their glistening big rocks to the less privileged ones, or the ones who have lived it all and got over it. Sometimes they make me wonder, why on earth you wear such expensive rings to work (have they forgotten that we do break our nails every single day at work despite the countless manicures?).

On todays turn around flight, another lucky one was deliciously repeating her romantic proposal to a group of awed airhostess’s who seemed to have forgotten that we do certainly have to serve the hungry passengers before the chit chat. She went on with her gleaming eyes constantly eyeing her beautiful princess cut diamond, “It was my birthday, and I wasn’t expecting it at all!” (Yeah Right!). “There was a delivery at the door with a huge box, and for a moment I thought it was a T.V, and when I opened it swoooosh came out a bunch of balloons, on them it was written “Will you Marry Me? (Awwwwwwwwww went on the chorus). “ At the bottom there was a teeny box and when I opened it, it was a ring!” It was a fairy tale all agreed.

The senior stewardess, who was a know-it-all and knew her diamonds by heart, suddenly spotted that her diamond wasn’t glistening as it use to be. “Oh darling I know the perfect solution for this! It will sparkle more after this!” Pop came out the Champaign. Most of the time opened bottles of Champaign are just drained down the toilets in preparation for landing, as it is not possible to re use them. So as it is a waste some crew use it as a natural hand scrub mixed with sugar, to make their hands smoother and softer. In this case it was suppose to glisten up the rock!  So there it laid inside a glass of Champaign, hidden behind the galley sink, and everybody went on with the day’s work.

After 2 sectors of turmoil and hard work and a lot of smiling, everybody was finally about to disembark, when the newly engaged realised she’s missing something. And to her and many of our dismay, the galley operator who didn’t have a clue that her ring was lying inside a glass of Champaign has simply gushed it down the drain! It was worse than a funeral; after a lot of howling, name calling and arguments, the poor galley operator stepped in and agreed to pay for the ring. Yes, he was a gentleman and a fool to have accepted the blame of throwing away her engagement ring which wasn’t supposed to be in a glass of bubbly in first place. If you got it, DON’T flaunt it!

First and fore most let me say if I have it, I sure well will flaunt it. May it be a expensive ring, chain a watch or any type of jewelery with one diamond or many. I have earned it. I have payed for it and I sure will flaunt it. Thank you every much.
Also some facts I would love to bring to ur notice. Special beverages as you have mentioned on a simple turn around? Sorry to disappoint but unless u were travelling in business class there is no SPECIAL BEVERAGE ev
