Flight: Jordan
Date: 28th January
At work you meet different types of people. Sometimes at least one of them turns out to be unethical or unprofessional. As a purser it is this senior cabin crew’s duty to manage the flight. As the crew just gets a short time for a safety briefing before a flight, most of the ice breaking and bonding is done during the flight. Most of the time the flight is a success, when the purser manages the crew accordingly, and makes sure that they are heard as employees and the airline standards are also met.
With rising competition, airline companies do impose a lot of pressures on a senior's shoulders and this makes some to become stern managers instead of good leaders. At any work place, a manager is not the most beloved person, at the end of the day he’s that nagging voice in your head to achieve more and more on behalf of a company, despite the benefits of hard work.

Though it is easy to manage people who are professional, there are a few who have hardly grown up from school days. On today’s flight a crew member was advised by the purser, for not sharing the work load properly. After all she wasn’t getting paid to paint her nails while others do all the work for her.
She started a heated argument with the purser saying how unfair the comments were, and she is not feeling very well (in that case she should have called in sick).
I was glad that the flight was finally over and the day was drawing closer with all the crew drama. As we walked past the customs, the purser was stopped by the authorities and was called to be questioned. The crew was left perplexed except for the lady who had difficulty in accepting constructive feedback, she was almost skipping.
The purser later on contacted the crew of the flight and explained why he was stopped at the authorities, and advised the crew members to be aware in future.
He has unknowingly had a couple of aircraft products in his cabin bag, which he didn’t take out, which were planted to frame him. As loyal as he was to the airline he was working for many years, he almost lost his job thanks to an unprofessional crew member.
Love, Dany
