Nosy Rosy…

Date: 2nd May

Flight: London Gatwick

As it was a night flight many passengers dozed off making it peaceful, except for a crying baby here and there or a few kept awake by their regular Gin & Tonic intake. As it wasn’t as busy as expected in the premium cabins, I walked down to give a hand with the infamous tea & coffee service in the economy cabin.

Once the chaos of making a dozen or more pots of tea ended, I started clearing up the galley while the rest of the crew attended to a few call bells. As I was focused on organizing the galley a bit more, wishing the crew were a bit more attentive to how the galley was left for the inbound crew, I was startled by a lady popping her head through the galley curtains. She was a small woman, rather peppy and seemed
utterly disturbed by something she witnessed. “You've got to come soon!” She said hardly even breathing. “The airhostess’s in the front galley are having it off!”

Rather perplexed by this impression I asked “having it off?”  She blabbered “Oh yes they are up to no good, a lot of groping this and that going on there! One of the women is shouting Right there… Right there!”  Unable to believe what she was saying I just laughed it off saying “No it can’t be, I am pretty sure it is not what you think it is!” and her constant pestering made me walk up to the front galley; after all she walked all the way back to economy from the premium cabins and there must be some truth to it as she appeared to be shaken.

Awkwardly enough the galley curtains were closed and for a moment, a doubt did pop into my mind (after all seeing the craziest things happening onboard this might just be one of those!). To be sure I just said out aloud “MAY I COME IN?” before opening the curtains. And for my relief it was not even close to what the lady assumed it was. One of the crew was suffering from a severe neck and back pain for a while, and the other crew who happened to be a physiotherapist before was simply showing her some tricks that she could do to recover.  As for the nosy Rosy, the crew had to go and explain to her what was really happening and justify that the sounds of pleasure was nothing but an innocent neck massage.
