Flight: Rome
Date: 14th February
Flying off to Rome on Valentine’s Day was like an enchanting fairy tale for most of the airhostess's. The enthralling sights of the “Fontana Di Trevi” surrounded by lovers of all ages, gathering around to make a wish, delicious Italian cuisine by the “Piazza De Spagna”, lovers walking in each other’s hand, makes Rome the most romantic place to be on a special day dedicated for love.
Today’s flight was not completely booked with commercial passengers. Taking advantage of the light passenger load some of the girls had their beau on board, most of themselves being crew having a day off. The ones in love were all in high spirits, blushing when passing by their better halves, and excitedly counting down the flying time. The ones whose days to be merry on valentine’s day have long gone, we're eyeing the happy ones like vultures, full of jealousy, depressed to be going to the least peaceful place on earth on such a day.
Rome being notorious for being a busy flight, a lot of eating and drinking and continuous chatter in Italian was going on. Mid way through the flight, one of the newbie’s was encountered with a distressed mid aged Italian lady, who seemed to be perplexed, “I have lost my husband!” she said. Strange it was as already 5 good hours had passed by since we took off. Upon enquiring she said, last she saw him was at the check in counter, speaking to the ground staff. Jotting down his name, I went to the purser to see whether we could locate him through the computer system.

The name matched to a passenger in Business class. As I went looking for him, peculiarly he was missing from there too.
While walking back down to speak to the distressed lady who was so upset, I bumped in to a mid aged man who was completely drunk, and chatting up another good looking lady, with a fine sparkling bubbly in his hand. Giving way for my intuition, I asked him “By any chance are you Mr. Pierre?" Yes he answered bluntly and went back to his engaging conversation.
Having no more to say myself, I went back to the lady who was cramped up in an economy seat, worried. I explained to her that her husband has been upgraded to business class, and she could visit him, and prayed in heart that we won't have to witness a murder on Valentine’s Day.
Light coming to her face, making her look pretty, she took off to see her beloved husband. Next we could here was a very loud ranting in Italian for about a good half an hour, and her husband making way down to economy, sneakily like a mouse, as she made herself comfortable in the Business Class flat bed. Instantaneously she requested for the in-flight duty free brochure. When the duty free operator asked looking at the most expensive sale she made onboard in her life time “Will you be paying by card or cash?" She replied with a cheeky and a satisfied smile on her face “Of course card my dear...and it’s MY HUSBANDS!”
Love, Dany
