Today on WTF, we took a trip to taste the best breakfast in town, and I must say it is the best, and the guys who cook it for you are just way to sweet and friendly that you end up falling in love with the place, and it’s such a new place but it feels like home, and for me it’s a very special view as it overlooks St. Peters College, Colombo 4.

As I did not know what to choose, I asked the guys Caleb and Oash to pick the dishes for me. They are from New Zealand, but Oash the man behind all the great tasting coffee and drinks did live in Australia for 10 long years.

I first tried the classic Mr. Benny (eggs Benedict), the funky names do add a smile on your face. Priced at Rs. 1600, the egg was so perfectly done, and not even a master chef can complain about it! For the Eggs Benedict, you have the option of choosing from smoked salmon, smoked crab, or avocado. I chose smoked salmon, keeping the tradition alive. Mr. Benny sat in front of me with a duo of buttered and toasted halved buns topped with smoked salmon and poached eggs covered in bright yellow hollandaise sauce. From the bread to the sauce everything is made in-house.

The next dish on the list was Isla Fisher (not the actress). This again was priced at Rs. 1600, and had a lot of features, and every bit of it was a match made in heaven. The dish comprised of hash browns, a poached egg, smoked salmon and sprinklings of feta cheese. The combination was so good that I will choose to have it everyday. The hash browns were so good - crispy on the outside, and packed with soft potato and flavours inside!

My final pick was everyone’s favourite Margot Robbie, priced at Rs. 1500. Margot Robbie comprises of a plate of French toast dusted with icing sugar and ornamented with whipped coconut cream (yes, there is something like this!), chopped strawberries, caramelized bananas and edible violet flowers, which grow wild all around our country (who knew we could eat them, and we had to have these boys from New Zealand to come and say it!). The French toast wasn't too sweet and it was nice and crunchy on the outside, and went really well with the creamy coconut.

Speaking to the boys they say, “We love Sri Lanka and we have made Bambalapitiya our new home!” Oash is the man behind all the great coffee and drinks, and what’s amazing is that although the coffee is strong, it's not burned, and is just a refreshing cup to enjoy!

Do remember to read the description of the dish on the menu or else you might get confused with what you order. The boys advice you to always have the dishes fast and not let it sit to let it get soggy. The place is too cute and cozy and it's blessed with happiness all around.
