“Just Kidding”
As a parent with young children, I am all to familiar with the rising panic that overwhelms me as one of my children's birthday's loom near. A multitude of questions go through my head, what should I do, what's the latest theme, how can I entertain 60 five year olds, where is there a fun and safe place without my a budget rising to the size of a small wedding reception??, YES, the questions are endless!
Parenting four children I have surely done my research and between all them we have exhausted every party venue available in Colombo, from the fast food joints to fun play areas, we have done them all. So I was pleasantly surprised and ecstatically delighted when I was introduced to “Just Kidding”, a party venue and planners combined.
“Just Kidding”, a private company run by a dynamic husband and wife duo, Dino and Seanalee Chrysostom, offers parents a safe and spacious environment to host their children's birthday party. Sensing a void in the market for a kids party venue coupled with a passion for kids, their main concern was organizing fantastic birthday parties that every child would reflect back on in their childhood and recall those unforgettable memories. With the option of an outside garden as well, parents are able to successfully entertain their guests both inside and out thus giving children a large area to play as well as many varied options for themes and décor to be incorporated.

Having started the company a mere three months ago Dino and Seanalee are already fully booked, they are very hands on with helping your ideas and dreams for your child's birthday party come true. The venue itself can accommodate up to 120 people, both adults and children. They offer four party packages with an array of entertainment options. The team are extremely flexible and customize packages to suit the customers' specific needs and themes. Apart from packages they also offer the venue only for hire in the event the client wishes to arrange their own party.
At the moment the parties catered to are for the 1 to 12 year olds, but they also do parties for baby showers as well. One of the unique qualities about “Just Kidding” is that they get involved in the whole party process, unlike other party planners who might just do the decor or provide solely the venue, the Just Kidding team will cover your party from start to finish. From designing the invitation cards, to the custom theme decor, entertainment, games, compering, candy tables,cake are just some of the many services offered.
Seanalee, the creative director of the team also comments that “When compared to our competition in the same industry, our main focus is theme parties and creating that unique "party experience”, so with a venue such as ours, we can bring your kids party themes to life. We also focus very heavily on customer service. This is an area that is lacking in Sri Lanka and we want to be different. Our customers are the most important people and we make sure that they know that. We also ensure high standards of hygiene are constantly maintained in our venue and products at all times.
“Just Kidding” is definitely an unusual name to for a party venue and which Seanalee says came into being because of her fail safe reply, “Just Kidding”, to any sort of trouble she got into as a child! Therefore as you can see with their sense of fun, this couple is solely focused on bringing their love of entertainment into your child's party, excuse the pun but they are definitely NOT kidding about that!
