Yasmin’s by Yasmin Cader opened last Saturday, on the 5th of December, 2020 and it is situated in Madiwela, on the top floor of Master Pieces by Sheriff. Opening a café has always been a dream of hers and contrary to what one may think, everything happened in the spur of the moment, to lead the creation of this café. Even to her astonishment, everything has happened within three weeks and this beautiful dessert shop was opened. This is a dessert shop because Yasmin is an avid dessert fan and she wanted to open up a place for likeminded people to come, enjoy the food and chat and chill with their friends and loved ones. 

This is such a cosy café that can accommodate around 10 to 15 people, with rustic furniture and friendly service; you will definitely love the ambience and the food they have to offer. At the moment they serve cake, premium ice cream and coffee. The ice cream is given by Carino, one of the leading premium ice cream manufacturers in Sri Lanka. They serve 12 of their amazing flavours at the moment. The cake is given by The Cake Factory, which is again one of the best in the business. 

Cappuccino: We were able to try their cappuccino, which they make in-house with premium Italian coffee and it reflected well on the taste. This is your perfect cappuccino, with not much sugar and a hell of a lot of coffee, to cut through all that sweetness you will be indulging in!

Ribbon Cake: They currently have three varieties of cake available and they are The Perfect Chocolate Cake, Ribbon Cake and Coffee Cake. We got the chance to try the Ribbon Cake and for a moment I was transformed into the small café in Kollupitiya that is The Cake Factory. Their cake is so distinctive, and the perfect ribbon cake the explodes with nostalgic memories from your childhood. Laced with buttercream frosting and soft buttery cake with almond flavour, this is the perfect treat. 

Pistachio Ice Cream: Out of the 12 flavours available, we tried out the Pistachio Ice Cream and it was so so good. Rich creamy ice cream dowsed with the taste of pistachios; it definitely lives up to its name. I would suggest that you try almost all of their flavours available and this is the only shop in the country that serves premium Carino ice cream. 

Yasmin’s is definitely a spot try out in the ever-developing city of Madiwela. In time to come they will introduce more ice cream flavours and cake varieties that will be a treat to everyone.
