Considering our lives have been consumed by technology, we decided to take a trip down memory lane, throwing it back to the 80's and 90's. Comparatively simpler times, the two era's stood out for its distinctive fashion, music and everything in between. We asked a few people what they remembered from the 80's and 90's. Here's what they had to say.

80’s

Jananath - the fashion was quite memorable yet atrocious, looking back. I remember the shoulder pads. I think princess Diana was huge back then - my wife was obsessed with everything Diana related, and even designed her wedding gown similarly.

Ajith - I think one of the best things about the 80s was the music! There were some great bands like Queen, AC/DC, Kiss and Mötley Crüe.

Nirushi Those colourful plastic earrings, house parties, Wham! everything Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, cassettes, school fairs-lots of them! Videos, Sweet Dreams books, TV programmes like Manimal, Love Boat, Brady Bunch, Cheers...Movies like Top Gun, Pretty in Pink, Dirty Dancing, Flashdance- breakdancing.

Jayanthi - Power suits and permed hair! The permed hair was the worst quite honestly! I'm guilty of it too as it was the trend back then.

Chatura - The good old days of writing love letters and trying to get it through to the other party. Despite communication being easy nowadays making it simple to reach out to a crush, nothing beats a good heartfelt letter. I've seen how impersonal youngsters are these days when expressing feelings.

90’s

Judy - Backstreet Boys, walkman, mixtapes, Space Jam, Lion King, Hercules, Xena, Fee Willy, light-up sneakers.

Kasun - Groovy music and good weather.

Kokila - Great music, good cartoons, the peaceful life of being a school kid with absolutely no stresses of adulthood.

Naushad - If anything from the 90's is good it was this mortal kombat lol.

Dinesh - The music, movies and cost of living.

Michelle - Backstreet Boys.

Fahad -  Less vehicles. Less traffic and a world with no social media.

David - Tupac Shakur.

Nimra - Simple times, connected more with peers, 90s music, 90s cartoons and the SPICE GIRLS!

Zeeshan - Sick soundtracks, obviously. Oh, and Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder

Teruni - The video cassettes! And everyone constantly taping over them! Also the huge stereo systems and the portable CD player. Those plastic film canisters. People making a huge deal about Titanic and how scandalous it was!

Annemarie - When you had an email account but no reason to check it! Good times!
